Meet your injector

Meet Joanna.

A Registered Practical Nurse and Injector who built Vivid around the kind of care she'd want for herself. Comfortable, safe, evidence-based.

My approach

I'm Joanna Kanarellis. I've been a nurse for several years — with a background in hospital and long-term care — and 5 years now specializing exclusively in aesthetic medicine.

My focus is natural yet impactful results. I work in a restorative way to gently slow the signs of aging, refine features, and support the skin you already have, without changing the person looking back at you in the mirror.

I take treatment plans seriously. Most aesthetic results aren't built in one appointment — they're built over time, with consistency. Whether that's regular Botox to soften lines before they etch, a series of microneedling sessions to rebuild collagen, or a customized skincare routine you can actually maintain, I'll help you build a plan that fits your goals and your budget. These treatments work very well together.

Continuing education

The work doesn't stop at certification.

I'm deeply invested in this always-evolving field. New techniques, new products, new evidence — and the only way to give clients current, safe, effective treatment is to keep learning.

Every year, I reinvest thousands of dollars into advanced training with the injectors and educators I respect most. The cost is mine. The benefit is yours.

Medical direction

Working under medical direction.

I work in collaboration with Nurse Practitioner Lauren Scott, who serves as our Medical Director via phone communication. Lauren is a primary care Nurse Practitioner with advanced aesthetics training, and she's involved in client care planning and consultation.

Medical direction isn't optional in Ontario — every nurse providing injectables should be working under a Medical Director — but beyond the legal requirement, it matters for your safety. It means there's a second clinical mind reviewing complex cases and supporting decisions about treatment plans.

My philosophy

Why I say no.

If a treatment isn't right for you, I'll tell you.

Wrong timing, wrong treatment, wrong expectations — there are real reasons to wait, choose a different approach, or skip a treatment entirely. You won't be talked into something that doesn't serve you.

This is the part of the job I take most seriously. It's also the reason most of my clients come back.
