What it is

What is microneedling?

Microneedling — sometimes called collagen induction therapy — is a treatment that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin while infusing serums like hyaluronic acid. Your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin to repair the area, which improves texture, tone, and overall skin quality over time.

It's one of the most reliable treatments for clients who want to improve the overall quality of their skin and maintain long-term results.

What it treats

What microneedling treats.

  • Pore size
  • Acne scarring and other scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation and uneven tone
  • Dull, tired-looking skin
  • Stretch marks (on the body)
  • Overall skin quality and elasticity
Add-ons

Add-ons that elevate the treatment.

Microneedling alone is effective. Add-ons take it further by delivering active ingredients directly into the microchannels, while they're still open. Add-ons will accelerate healing and results!

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP is applied immediately during and after microneedling into the microchannels created in the skin. The growth factors penetrate deeply into the skin and accelerate healing, collagen production, and overall results. This is one of the most regenerative skin treatments available.

VAMP by Prollenium

VAMP is a regenerative treatment using PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide — derived from low molecular-weight salmon DNA fragments. PDRN is widely used in regenerative medicine (especially in Korea) for its ability to stimulate collagen, repair damaged skin, improve skin tone, reduce inflammation, and boost hydration.

VAMP is delivered into the skin post microneedling and is especially effective for:

  • Deep hydration and skin plumping
  • Brightening uneven skin tone and reducing pigmentation
  • Strengthening skin elasticity
  • Enhancing the skin's natural repair processes
  • Reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging
  • Accelerating healing after treatment

If you have a specific skin concern, ask about microneedling — there's almost always an add-on that takes the treatment further.

Who it's for

Who microneedling works best for.

Microneedling suits clients who want to improve their skin's overall texture and quality. It's particularly effective for acne scarring, complexion, large pores, dullness, and fine lines.

It's safe for most skin types and tones, but I'll always assess your skin before recommending a treatment. Active acne, broken or irritated skin, and certain medical conditions may mean we postpone or modify treatment.

Microneedling isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What to expect

Your appointment, step by step.

  1. Numbing. Topical numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes before treatment.
  2. Treatment. I use an FDA approved device called the E Pen to create microchannels in the skin. The depth is adjusted to each client and their concerns.
  3. Add-on application (if booked). PRP or VAMP is applied immediately after microneedling.
  4. Aftercare. I'll review specific aftercare with you. Generally: no makeup for 24 hours, gentle cleanser, no actives (retinol, acids) for 3–7 days, sunscreen religiously.

The full appointment is usually 60 minutes.

Pain & downtime

Comfortable with brief downtime.

Treatment is well tolerated, though you'll feel a vibrating sensation and some areas (especially the forehead and around the bony structures of the face) are more sensitive than others.

Downtime is typically 24–72 hours of redness — similar to a mild sunburn. Some clients experience mild flaking on day 3–5.

Frequently asked

Microneedling questions, honestly answered.

How many sessions will I need?

A minimum of three sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. For acne scarring or significant texture concerns, more sessions may be ideal.

Will it hurt?

Topical numbing makes microneedling very comfortable. Areas like the forehead may be slightly sensitive.

What's the difference between microneedling and mesotherapy facials?

Microneedling uses longer needles and creates more micro-injuries to stimulate collagen — there's more downtime but stronger long-term results. Mesotherapy facials use shorter needles for surface infusion of serums — minimal downtime, perfect before events but more focused on glow than deep remodeling.

Should I add PRP or VAMP?

It depends on your goals. PRP uses your own platelets and is excellent for overall regeneration. VAMP is excellent for hydration, brightening, and elasticity. We'll discuss which is right for you at consultation.

Can I do microneedling if I have acne?

If you have active, inflamed acne, we'll usually choose a different treatment like our Chrome Laser. For acne scarring, microneedling is one of the most effective treatments available alongside our deep fractional treatment.

Is it safe for darker skin tones?

Yes — microneedling is safe across all skin tones. We'll still discuss your specific skin to make sure the depth and frequency are right for you.
